Fashion is the way to demonstrate our individuality to the world. It is about being creative and different. Technological influences are growing more apparent in the fashion industry. Advances and new developments are shaping and creating current and future trends. Developments, such as wearable LED lights technology, have become an important trend in fashion and soon will enter into our live.
Controllers are getting smaller and it is possible now to create small but robust systems which are suitable for commercial use. Ideas, which were implemented by LED DIY enthusiasts only, now are making their way to world class fashion shows.
Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2015, with Behati Prinsloo walking down the runway wearing LED fireworks costume, is a good example.
It is not a surprise that model has got a lot of attention and it is better to watch video
Certainly it should be shown in darkness but, unfortunately, other models did not have lighting costumes. And a little peek at the backstage.
Lighting effect created in GrandMa software and recorded/replayed by PixOut ArtNet recorder device was used in LED angel wings. Beautiful lighting fireworks effects enhance the model appearance on the stage and improve overall impact of the show.
But fashion shows are not exclusive usage for LED costumes. Any other show can gain it is own unique flavour while using light effects for performers. For example, there is Fire Pixie company from San Francisco which brings special atmosphere to events, festivals and parties. Along with traditional fire dancers, they get light dancers to make it special. Take a look at examples of their performances.
Or maybe you want to have Tron style party? Or create a special costume with programmable LED lighting for Halloween or any other occasion? Or participate in cosplay representing a character with amazing cool looking light effects? It is only your imagination that limits usage for LED costumes.
