May 2026 — Today we are happy to announce the next stage in Pixout’s platform evolution. This release introduces a unified versioning model, an updated OEM support policy, a Long-Term Support track for legacy deployments, and the beginning of a gradual UI modernization. Here is what it all means for you.
Unified Versioning
All Pixout software packages are moving to a new version numbering format:
YY.XX.COMMITS
This gives every release a clear, traceable identity across the full ecosystem — from embedded components to control interfaces and mobile apps. Development, deployment, and maintenance all follow the same lifecycle from here on.
Packages and versions example:
- PXSERVER – 25.1.2
- ARTNET_PLAYER – 25.1.1
OEM Program Update
Starting 1 June 2026, new OEM-branded software builds, updates, and branding modifications will be available only to customers with active commercial engagement — meaning active projects, recent purchases, or a maintenance agreement.
To be fair and transparent: existing OEM installations will continue to run normally without any restrictions. This change applies only to new OEM software development going forward.
The reason is straightforward — maintaining multiple parallel OEM branches takes significant engineering time that we’d rather invest into platform-wide stability and new features for everyone.
Long-Term Support (LTS)
Customers with no commercial activity over the past two years will be moved to a Long-Term Support (LTS) branch. The LTS track includes:
- Security updates
- Critical stability fixes
- Stable API maintenance
- Extended operational compatibility
Feature development and UI evolution will remain exclusive to active software branches. The LTS track is designed to keep production deployments running safely while freeing us to move the platform forward.
Panel V2 — Progressive UI Modernization
Panel V1 and related control interfaces are entering a gradual modernization process. Rather than a disruptive redesign, we are doing iterative, continuous improvements — no forced migration, no operational interruption.
The new interface will be marked V2 in the UI. You will see it appear progressively as we roll updates out.
Looking Forward
This is not a product relaunch — it is a foundation upgrade. Our goal is a leaner, more consistent platform that is easier to maintain, easier to deploy, and built to last.
We will keep you posted on whatever new releases we have.
Hope you enjoy your Pixout devices!
Cheers,
Pixout Team
